Zine making

Cut, paste, rip, draw – finally, all those hours of scissor practice pay off! Paper everywhere, glue sticking to your fingers, letters tumbling out of place. That’s the charm. Together with Sky (they/them) we’ll dive right in.

Zine making started in feminist and political movements, as a way to amplify voices and ideas that didn’t get space in the mainstream. Cheap, DIY and radically accessible. A way to share stories, let images speak, and create room for everything that’s usually unseen or unheard.

Sky will show some examples, cutting styles and different ways a zine can take shape. After that, it’s your turn. It helps if you think beforehand about a theme that matters to you or something you’d like to express.

Practical info: doors open at 19:00. The workshop runs from 19:30 to 21:30, and anyone who wants to can stay until 22:00. Drinks are available at community prices. 👉 This workshop will primarily be held in English. We’re experimenting with making our events as accessible as possible.
Deze workshop wordt in eerste instantie gegeven in het Engels. We experimenteren met hoe we onze events zo toegankelijk mogelijk kunnen maken. Sky spreekt ook Nederlands, dus als je Engels niet zo goed is, is dat geen enkel probleem.
